Each additional student in an immediate family, or each additional half-hour taken by the same student, is offered a $10.00 discount per second half hour, making the rate for one hour  $140.00 per month.

Consultation Fee:

Consultations: $30.00 per half hour/$55.00 per hour. ( by appointment Only!) Payment due when services rendered.

All monthly lesson payments are due and payable at or prior to the time of the first monthly lesson. Those starting lessons in the middle of a month will have a standard pro-rated fee for number of lessons remaining in the month. We do not bill for lessons unless payment is in arrears. An additional $2.00 billing charge will be included with each bill mailed to the students address. Please see that your payment reaches us by the 10th of the month-- allow plenty of time if mailed! Any payments that reach us after the 10th will be charged the additional late fee. Please send all payments to the following address Psalmist School of Music P.O. Box 4126 Tyler, Texas 75702.

It is your responsibility to get it to us on time. If you wish to pay online please see our online payment page.

Make-Up Lessons:

No make-up lessons are given for a missed lesson in any five lesson month, as you are only charged for four lessons each month!

We do not generally give make-up lessons for private instruction due to the extremely tight schedules of our teachers. It is difficult to find a time to schedule it in both for your schedule as well as ours, especially during the school year. However, in emergency situations, such as sickness or visit to the Doctor, Dentist etc.. or emergency trips out of town, etc., we occasionally can give a makeup if time and scheduling allows with at least a 24 hour minimum notice, if possible, requested! The more notice given the greater the likelihood of receiving a makeup.

Calling at the last minute, or for pleasure trips or functions you choose to attend rather than come to your lesson, after all it is your choice. "no shows", or just plain forgetting do not necessitate a make-up lesson nor will one be one offered.

Our Phone Number: 903 581-5461

You may leave us a message at any time by calling 903-581-5461 24 hours a day, leave a voice mail message in the general mailbox. The answering system generally picks up when you call throughout the day to avoid constant interruption of lessons we are teaching. This does not mean we are not here---we are just teaching! We check our messages each morning. So to be sure we receive it in time we request a minimum of 24 hours notice. Thank you  for understanding!

Please be sure to leave us a message!

We do not give or offer refunds for any missed lessons or “no shows”. The full lesson fee is due once you have reserved your lesson time slot whether you show up or not. Your instructor has already blocked off that time just for you and is sitting waiting to teach you whether or not you show up. Thank you for understanding! We do not offer or give refunds for any unused portion of your monthly tuition if you choose to drop out during a month. If you find you must discontinue your lessons for any reason, we ask that, out of courtesy to your instructor and the School to allow him/her to give your slot to another student requesting that time. Please give at least two weeks notice. The full lesson fee is due once you have reserved that lesson slot whether you show up or not.  Thank you  for understanding!

Drops:

We do not give refunds from the unused portion of your monthly tuition if you choose to drop out in the middle of a month. If you must discontinue your lessons for any reason, we ask that, out of courtesy to your instructor and so that we may give your slot to someone waiting in line, for the time slot. you give us at least two weeks notice so we may fill your slot without interruption. You will be billed for any time slots you have reserved and not canceled, so, whether you show up or not we reserve it for you. You will be billed for the entire month for any time slots you have reserved and not given two weeks notice of cancellation about. No exceptions!

Recitals and additional performance opportunities:

We have at least two recitals each year. One in late Spring, early Summer. The other in December of each year! In order for your child to participate in any Recital or Performance activity they must be registered and taking lessons for the entire month the activity is scheduled for, there are no exceptions to this policy. There is no refund for any activity or Recital fees involved with any o these activities as they are optional.

Summer Drops: (aka vacation time)

If you choose to drop out for a month or two, or the entire summer,  your student will lose his or her eligibility for the trophies we give for uninterrupted years of study at Psalmist School of Music. He or she will simply start over when you return, only those who stay in the entire year receive a medallion or trophy at the end of the year. We work very hard to make arrangements to fit each students needs and requirements for vacation time. But we have never had a student that truly needed three months off  unless they were journeying to a foreign country for the entire summer. In those cases we make arrangements on an individual basis in advance. These students must start lessons immediately upon their return. Waiting for another month will necessitate their starting over as well. We have found those that drop for Summer time often take longer than the two or three months they were out just to catch back up! So to encourage our students to "keep after it", We try to make the trophies worth the effort it takes to receive them  Thank you for understanding! We always strive to make our awards as fair as humanly possible. If you have any questions please contact your teacher with them. If this seems "hard" we can only say it has been our experience, those that stay in for the summer make far more progress much faster  than those that drop out for the summer and then have to play catch up during the fall and winter months. We hope you understand it is the best for your student to stay in and make use of their "free" time in the summer to practice! Remember: To gain the most from your musical experience~ it is essential to attend your regular weekly lesson without interruption~ as much as possible. Parents, please see our Student handbook for ideas to help you maintain your students habit of practice. We want to make your musical education fun and profitable for you!
